Hosting a Wine Tasting at Home

The holiday season is here and what better way to gather your friends than over a wine tasting at home! Have you ever wanted to host a wine tasting at home but are not sure how? Here's a great step by step guide to hosting a fun! We think that Osmosis Wines - Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc and Red Blend are the perfect wines for this occasion.  Sustainably made, Low Calorie and Low Alcohol, our wines are also all estate grown and crafted with you in mind. *And please remind everyone to drink responsibly.

10 Steps to Hosting A Wine Tasting At Home:

  1. Choose a theme like Low Calorie - Low Alcohol  such as our Osmosis Wines.
  2. Select at least 3 different wines - Osmosis has a Red Blend, Rose and Sauvignon Blanc
  3. Plan your food selection to pair with the wines. Since your wines are on the low calorie, plan foods that are light and match the theme. Crudites, shrimp cocktail, bruschetta with tomatoes and mozzarella, prosciutto and melon balls, hummus, dips with a yogurt base, air popped popcorn instead of chips
  4. Plan your glassware, you can use just one glass such as an all purpose wine glass, but having a glass for each wine color is also a great idea - one for red, one white, one rose.  You can also use whatever you have on hand, don't stress! This is supposed to be fun!
  5. Pouring the right amount.  Remember this is a tasting so try to start with 2 ounce pours during the tasting portion. People can go back to their favorites afterwards.
  6. How many bottles do you need?  The guide is this: A bottle holds 25 ounces, so if you are pouring 2 ounces per person that should be your guide.
  7. Have a vessel for people to pour out what they don't taste for responsible drinking.
  8. Have paper and pens so people can take notes
  9. Encourage discussion!
  10. Have fun and remember wine choices are personal!
